“GlowFlow”, a step towards a unified ionisation source for mass spectrometry?

نویسندگان

چکیده

The authors have developed the “GlowFlow” mass spectrometry source design based on an Argon flowing glow-discharge that can be retrofitted to existing instrumentation and ionise compounds at atmospheric pressure which are less amenable ESI.

A First Step Towards a Unified Proof Checker for QBF

Compared to SAT, there is no simple concept of what a solution to a QBF problem is. Furthermore, as the series of QBF evaluations shows, the QBF solvers that are available often disagree. Thus, proof generation for QBF seems to be even more important than for SAT. In this paper we propose a new uniform proof format, which captures refutations and witnesses for a variety of QBF solvers, and is b...

Ionic liquids enable electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry in hexane.

Addition of a lipophilic ionic liquid to non-polar, hydrocarbon solvents (such as hexane and toluene) permits electrospray ionisation mass spectrometric analysis of dissolved analytes.

Analysis of intact bacteria using rapid evaporative ionisation mass spectrometry.

An identification system for microorganisms based on recently developed rapid evaporative ionisation mass spectrometry (REIMS) is presented. Nine bacterial species cultured on various growth media were correctly identified to family-, genus-, and species-level based on their different mass spectral fingerprints using a cross-validated maximum margin criterion model.

Characterisation of intact microorganisms using electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry

We report the first application of electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) for the reproducible characterisation of strains of intact Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Electrospray ionisation was performed in both the positive and negative ion modes and the spectra obtained from Escherichia coli and Bacillus cereus were very information rich. Several of the observed negative ...

Ambient ionisation mass spectrometry for the characterisation of polymers and polymer additives: a review.

The purpose of this review is to showcase the present capabilities of ambient sampling and ionisation technologies for the analysis of polymers and polymer additives by mass spectrometry (MS) while simultaneously highlighting their advantages and limitations in a critical fashion. To qualify as an ambient ionisation technique, the method must be able to probe the surface of solid or liquid samp...
